A Thing With Wings

Bridal Couture editorial photographed at Aynhoe Park featured in the June 2021 issue of Oxfordshire Living Magazine.

“When I kiss you like a papercut like a king of spades like a bird born from my sleeve.”

She doesn’t stay long.
A rare bird landing in a grand old room and fluttering all in white. Her wings mottle the light. The beat of them, a glimpse of the beauty of her. And then they are gone and only a few feathers remain.

Image 12: Preview of artwork in James Perkin’s private collection at Parnham House. I have painted incorporeal traces on top of figures moving in and out of the shadows of Aynhoe’s treasures. What could have been plays in paint and ink over the documentary of a dance through a house, simple photographs rendered “poetry of the real”. These final artworks will be exhibited later in 2021.
